Global NDC Call Support

This initiative provides technical assistance and advice to countries for updating and implementing their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and Short-Term Development Strategies (LT-LEDS) in line with the Paris Agreement. Its objective is to strengthen national capacities to plan, align, and implement ambitious climate action by addressing gaps in data, institutional frameworks, financing strategies, and sectoral policies. The work encompasses both mitigation and adaptation components, with a focus on improving transparency, enhancing governance, and fostering coherence with broader development agendas such as the 2030 Agenda, the Convention on Biological Diversity, and the Sendai Framework. It also promotes inclusive approaches that consider gender, diversity, and the needs of vulnerable groups, while supporting national institutions in mobilizing resources, engaging the private sector, and integrating climate priorities across sectors and levels of government.

Activities performed:
– Lead the coordination and overall management of the project, ensuring the timely delivery of packages and advisory results with high quality standards
– Maintain communication and coordination with GIZ, partners and relevant stakeholders throughout the implementation process
– Plan, manage and supervise the work of international and local experts, including identifying and guiding short-term assignments within the allocated budget
– Ensure the coherence and complementarity of services with other activities carried out at the national and local level, integrating cross-cutting issues such as gender equality
– Monitor supervisory procedures, financial planning and proper use of funds in consultation with GIZ
– Provide technical leadership by preparing and facilitating consultation sessions, developing the Action Plan, and contributing to all deliverables
– To act as a technical and strategic advisor to GIZ, offering guidance, recommendations and timely advice on key conceptual and operational issues
– Support project evaluations, strategy updates, and preparation for subsequent phases as needed
