The project aims to strengthen the transparency, accuracy, and consistency of greenhouse gas inventories in the LULUCF sector in EU Member States under the Governance Regulation (EU) 2018/1999 and the LULUCF Regulation (EU) 2018/841. Through in-depth technical reviews, identification of methodological and reporting issues, and targeted capacity-building activities, the project supports Member States in aligning their inventories with regulatory requirements and best practices. In addition to the centralized technical review process, the project has been expanded to include cross-cutting analyses of common LULUCF issues and capacity building focused on transparency and quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC), contributing to the harmonization of reporting approaches, improved data quality, and greater institutional capacity for developing LULUCF inventories.
